Down-Right Speed topped off an exceptional indoor season, during which every athlete achieved a PB in at least 1 event, with a great showing at the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) Championships at the EIS Sheffield.
In the Men’s 60m Brad William’s ran a PB of 7.00 but missed out on the final by 0.01s! Paul Payne was heading to the final when he pulled up with cramp at around 40m but still ran 7.04, well down on his 6.95 PB from two weeks previously.
In the Women’s 60m, Emma Bailey felt sluggish but still trotted to a silver medal with 7.58s. In the same race Natalie Jowett ran a new PB of 7.71 and achieved a 4 th place finish in the process - missing the Bronze by a whisker.
In the Men's 200m competition Paul Judson equalled his indoor PB coasting to the Gold from lane 4 in 21.65 despite stopping the clock at 21.61. In the Women's event Emma Bailey made a major breakthrough improving her indoor PB from 24.94 to 24.41 to win a Silver medal (Emma also broke her outdoor PB of 24.8 in the process)!
Down-Right dominated in the relays as well. Emma and Natalie brought home the Silver for Loughborough with Emma running a sensational 24.0 split on the final leg. In the men's final Paul Judson lead off Loughborough who finished first in a new BUSA Championship Record of 1min 26.22s.
